1)  Article "Four Generations Gather to Honor Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Horn", TheChickasha Daily Express, June 1953, Horn Family Reunion, June 1953 - listed as "other guests attending the reunion" were Mr. and Mrs. Ben Matthews  of Chickasha [OK].  Ben's mother was Margaret "Maggie" Horn-Matthews, who also attended the reunion.  Listed in the article, directly after the names of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Matthews are the names of children: Nancy, Linda, Morgan and Nancy DeKinder.  The use of Nancy's name twice is thought to be an error.  In the reunion photo, there are three little girls sitting directly in front of Mattie Matthews which are thought to be these girls.  They are possibly the granddaughters of Ben and Mattie Matthews.  [Note:  Ben and Mattie Matthews were two of this researcher's most favorite folks and fond memories of them both are vivid to this date.  Mattie was a wonderful gardener and their home in Chickasha was always surrounded with beautiful blooming flowers. Visits were made often to see them.  Ben and Mattie also visited my grandparents, J.R. and Tennie Horn, often.]
2) US Census, 1920 (Jan.) - San Augustine Co., TX, Pct. 2, ED177, HH167, T625_1843, Pg. 9a-9b, Image 0775.  Ben F. Mathews (son, age 21, born TX, farm labor, working out) is found on this census living in the household of his father, Newt Mathews (see Francis Marion Newton Matthews for full census description].3) US Census, 1920 (Jan) - Shirley, Grady Co., OK, ED188, HH57, Pg. 9A, T625_1461, Image 1085.  Benj F. Mathews (age 22, born TX-TX-TX, general farm laborer) is found on this census.  Living in his household is the following person:  Sarah E. Fields (mother, age 71, widow, born TX-AL-TN).  [Note:  Living next door to Benj F. Mathews and Sarah E. Fields, in HH56, is the family of Jerry Fields and Kate Horn-Fields.  Why is Sarah E. Fields shown as Benj. F. Mathews' mother?  He married in Grady Co., OK in 1921 so could he have traveled from Texas to Oklahoma between census times and have been counted on two census records....Texas and Oklahoma?]
4) US Census, 1930 - Chickasha, Grady Co., OK, ED11, HH   , Pg. 8a, Image 0340, T626_1904.  B. L. Mathews (age 32, born TX, age at 1st marriage 23) is found on the index of this census; the actual census record shows B. F. Mathews.  Living in his household are the following:  Mattie (wife, age 28, born TN, parents born TN), Bertha (daughter, age 8, born OK) and Margaret (daughter, age 6, born OK).
