X) BOUCHARD David, chevalier, vicomte d'Aubeterre, baron de Pauléon, né à Genêve.
Il était encore jeune quand il rentra en France. Etant protégé par le seigneur de Bourdeilles qui intercéda auprès de Charles IX, Henri III et la Reine-Mère, il put récupérer ainsi Aubeterre.
Il abjura le protestantisme et devint sénéchal et gouverneur du Périgord, au décès de son beau-père (1582), ainsi que chevalier des Ordres du Roi (1585). (Jean Corbin).
Il épousa le 16 février 1579, Renée de Bourdeille, fille d'André, et de Jacquette de Montbron.
Il fut tué au siège de l'Isle, le 10 août 1593.
Sa femme décéda le 8 septembre 1596.
De leur union naquit :
  1) Hippolyte, qui épousa le 15 avril 1597, François d'Esparbès, seigneur de Lussan, auquel elle porta la terre d'Aubeterre. Leurs enfants furent substitués aux nom et armes des BOUCHARD d'Aubeterre.
