Louis-Pierre-Englebert d'ARENBERG était le 2e fils de Charles- Léopold, duc d'ARENBERG et de Louise-Marguerite de la MARCK.
Louis-Pierre-Englebert, prince héréditaire d'ARENBERG, naquit le 3 août 1750. Il fut surnommé l'Aveugle parce que, jeune encore, il perdit la vue au cours d'une chasse.
Il fut nommé chevalier de la Toison d'Or et fut promu chambellan de l'impératrice Marie-Thérèse d'Autriche, le 22 septembre 1771.
Il épouse, à Paris, le 19 janvier 1773, Antoinette -Candide-Pauline de BRANCAS-de LOURAGUAIS.
A la mort de son père, et malgré sa cécité, Marie-Thérèse d'Autriche le nomma gouverneur et grand-bailli de Hainaut de 1760 à 1788, mission qu'il remplit avec efficacité.
A la mort de Marie-Thérèse d'Autriche, son successeur Joseph II, estimant qu'un aveugle ne pouvait remplir efficacement la fonction de gouverneur et de grand-bailli, désigna une personne de son entourage immédiat, le comte d'ARBERG.

Louis-Pierre-Engilbert d'Arenberg duc d'Arenberg [Parents ] est né le 3 août 1750 à Bruxelles, Brab.Fl., BEL. Il est décédé le 7 mars 1820. Louis-Pierre-Engilbert a épousé Pauline-Louise de Brancas le 19 janvier 1773 à Paris.
Louis-Pierre-Engelbert, duc d'Arenberg, grand d'Espagne, chevalier de la Toison d'or, prince de Porcean, baron de Quiévrain, né à Bruxelles, le 3 août 1750, épousa à Paris, le 19 janvier 1773, Pauline-Louise de Brancas-Lauraguais. Ayant perdu la vue par un accident de chasse, il se retira dans ses propriétés d'Enghien et d'Héverlé ; il y passa toute la période de la révolution française. Les qualités éminentes de son esprit le firent appeler au sénat par l'empereur Napoléon (19 mai 1806 ) ; il devint bientôt après grand officier de l'ordre de la réunion. Rentré à Bruxelles, après la restauration, il mourut le 7 mars 1820, laissant pour héritier le prince Louis d'Arenberg qui devint le chef de la famille at qui mourut le 27 février 1861.
Pauline-Louise de Brancas [Parents ] est née le 23 novembre 1755. Elle est décédée le 10 août 1812. Pauline-Louise a épousé Louis-Pierre-Engilbert d'Arenberg duc d'Arenberg le 19 janvier 1773 à Paris.
Ils ont eu les enfants suivants:
   FiPauline d'Arenberg est née le 2 septembre 1774, et est décédée le 2 juillet 1810.
   MiiProsper-Louis d'Arenberg Duc d'Aerschot Arenberg est né le 28 avril 1785, et est décédé le 27 février 1861.
   MiiiPierre Alcantara Charles d'Arenberg est né le 2 octobre 1790, et est décédé le 27 septembre 1877.
