Jan Dirck Sijmonszn van Ruijven trouwt in 1524 met Grietje Claesdr. van Clapwijck. Grietje wordt geboren in 1505. Ze is een dochter van Claes van Clapwijk (1470) en N.N.

Jan en Grietje krijgen zes kinderen [Grietgen 1528-1586; Maarten 1534; Frederick 1535; Arien 1536-1627; Maritgen 1537-1611; Jan 1544-1608; Theunis 1545; Pieter 1547]. Het gezin woont in Klapwijk. Jan is brouwer. Zij overlijdt op 14 januari 1557 in Pijnacker. Hij overlijdt in Pijnacker op 24 februari 1577. Hij is begraven in Delft.
