    In dit handschrift is de combinatieletter ij (in feite i+j) eigenaardig geschreven, zonder puntjes en met een onderstok (i.p.v. de gebruikelijke onderlus). Toch staat vast dat hier geen "y" (ypsilon) bedoeld kand zijn, omdat men in de 19e en begin 20e eeuw (en deze akte is uit 1879) nog geen gebruik maakte van de letter y zoals wij die nu kennen. Met of zonder puntjes op de letter maakt geen verschil. De “IJ” zonder puntjes erop wordt overgenomen als “ij”, tenzij de uitspaak klink als “ie” (bv Sybrand klinkt als [Siebrand]).
