    Ben du Crocq, 89, overleed woensdag 31 januari 2018 aan plotselinge en onverwachte hartcomplicaties in het St. Mary's Hospital in Livonia, Michigan.
    Hij was een goedhartige, trots onafhankelijke man die zeker graag plezier had. Hij overleefde zijn 40 + jaar leven lang metgezel, Elsie Norton, door bijna 3-jaar en wordt herinnerd door liefdevolle familie in Michigan en Pennsylvania.
    Hij is geboren en getogen in Amsterdam, Nederland in 1928 en verhuisde naar de Verenigde Staten in het midden van de jaren 1950.
    Als jongeman diende hij in het Nederlandse leger en toerde hij door een groot deel van Europa tijdens de laatste etappes van de Tweede Wereldoorlog. Na de oorlog werkte hij als rentmeester voor verschillende luxe cruisemaatschappijen, wat hem de kans gaf om de wereld te zien. Hij ontmoette Elsie, de liefde van zijn leven, toen ze beiden in de veertig waren... en had een bal "cruisen" in hun latere jaren. De laatste 10-jaren van zijn beroepscarrière werden besteed het nastreven van zijn passie voor zowel meubels overspuiten, die hij deed met de Ethan Allen meubelbedrijf, en het repareren van grote beweging antieke klokken. Hij was een man met unieke talenten.
    Ben was ook erg dol op het zijn met familie, antiquing, fitness, lezen, reizen, en vooral de zorg voor hun verschillende katten door de jaren
    heen. In feite was hij vooral dol op zijn "Red" die samen met zijn familie hem erg zal missen.
