Pieter was bij zijn overlijden verloofd Hij werd gearresteerd en naar het kamp Amersfoort gebracht.
Commentaar: Ik zie dat een zekere Pieter Westra (1908-1944) in uw genealogie is opgenomen. Hij was hulppredikant in de Gereformeerde Kerken van 1939-1944 in verschillende kerken, Beekbergen, Zuidhorn, Groningen en Spijk-Gr. In 1942 zat hij van april tot september in het kamp Amersfoort. Ten behoeve van een boek over predikanten in de WOII zoeken wij meer gegevens, nl. waarom hij in 1942 werd gearresteerd en weer vrijgelaten, en waarom hij zo vroeg is overleden. Overigens is hij volgens onze gegevens bij Anloo bij Zuidlaren overleden maar begraven in Gerkesklooster, zijn geboorteplaats.(Atze Herder)
