Na het overlijden van haar man vertrok Sara met haar zoon naar Soest op 19 maart 1907 en ging vast wonen op het landgoed "Ëikenhorst" wat haar man ooit had gekocht in 1898, en toenmalig gelegen aan de Utrechtseweg no. 4. Op 30 november 1911 werd door een raadsbesluit van de gemeente Soest de naam "Ütrechtseweg' veranderd in de "Beckeringhstraat'. Het landgoed is momenteel een rust en verpleeghuis.
