Uit: Jelle J. Bosma, Alle G. Hoekema en Daan de Clercq: Doopsgezinden tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog: လVoorzightigheid wegens Duitsgezinde leden. In de kerkenraad had men, in elk geval tot 1942, te maken met het gegeven dat de vicevoorzitter, Willem Stroink, lid was van de NSB. Stroink was directeur van de Twentsche Bank in Alkmaar en wordt in interviews omschreven als een vriendelijke man: ဘzeer sympatiek en er is geen kwaas woord van hem te vertellenမ. Een zoon van Stroink, Wim, ging onder druk van zijn ouders naar het oostfront en is daar vermoedelijk in de winter van 1944 omgekomen. In de ledenvergadering van 12 mei 1942 nam Stroink afscheid van de kerkenraad. De voorzitter bedankte hem hartelijk voor zijn werk als kerkenraardslid en ဘvooral voor de financiële adviezen, die hij naast destijds dhr. De Lange in zijn 29 jarige loopbaan met onderbrekeing van telkens 1 jaar ons had gegevenမ. Stoink was in 1913 voor het eerst lid van de kerkenraad geworden.
