"Ons verblijf is maar zeer eenvoudig; organiek zijn hier vier officieren; een. optrekje met
atap dak en atap wanden {atap = gevlochten palmbladeren), in vier hokken verdeeld; een
balë-bale (bank van bamboe) dient als slaapplaats; een bamboe tafeltje en je kleding hang
je aan spijkers op. Een mess is het gemeenschappelijk verblijf waar we dus ook eten.
Als jongste heb ik de zorg voor de menage. Commandant van het bivak ïs de kapitein
