Hendrik Meijer staat in het Haardstedenregister van Eelde 1784 en 1794 als bakker, in 1804 alleen als keuter, waarschijnlijk in huis 45. In 1798 is hij bakker in huis 65. In huis 45 werkt dan Joseph Meier Levi als slager.
In 1802 koopt hij het noordelijke deel van het schathuis bij het Nijsinghhuis met het daarachter liggende terrein. Het huis, gelegen op het latere Eelder Kampje, is voor 1832 afgebroken.
