Na de dood van haar man verhuisde Maritie Verhees naar Amersfoort. Drie van haar kinderen traden daar in het huwelijk. Hun nageslacht is niet verder nagegaan, met uitzondering van de afstammelingen van Jacobus Andriesz Verberne, die zich weer op Texel vestigde. Bijna alle Verberne's zijn rooms-katholiek.
Een uitzondering vormen de nakomelingen van Ludolphus Jacobusz Verberne, die met een protestantse vrouw trouwde.
