Van oorsprong een gereformeerde familie uit Den Burg. De stamvader Pieter Cornelisz de Jong, zoon van Cornelis Pietersz de Jong en Martje Jans Kolder, was bakker. Het beroep is hier de geslachtsnaam geworden.
Hij was in 1728 president-schepen, een functie die later ook werd bekleed door zijn kleinzoon Bouwe Cornelisz Bakker, die op betrekkelijk late leeftijd huwde met Grietje Cornelis Lap uit Den Hoorn.

Dit huis is aan het begin van de 19e eeuw gesloopt.

- Pieter Cornelis Bakker, die ook wel Pieter Cornelis de Jong werd genoemd, bezat het huis in ieder geval vanaf 1736. Hij trouwde in 1704 als jongeman met Aaltje Dirks. Van beroep was hij broodbakker.
