Anna Catharina Arnoldusd OTTENHOF, geb. 1731 in Oldenzaal, gedoopt 27 Jun 1731 in Oldenzaal, ovl. 6 Dec 1781 in Oldenzaal (tering), begraven 9 Dec 1781 in Amsterdam, religie RK. Zij trouwt Jacob BALM, ook bekend als BALME, kerkelijke ondertrouw 6 mei 1757 in Amsterdam, getrouwd 22 Mei 1757 in Amsterdam, geb. 1727 - 1731 in Piemonte (It), ovl. 1792 in Amsterdam (problemen op de borst), begraven 14 Mrt 1792 in Amsterdam (St; Antonieskerkhof), beroep schoenmaker. Jacob: Jacob Balm(e) werd medio 1731 geboren. Het jaartal is niet met zekerheid vast te stellen. De bronnen spreken elkaar tegen. In de akte van zijn eerste huwelijk in 1757staat een leeftijd vermeld van 26 jaar. Bij de aangifte van zijn overlijden in 1792 wordt de leeftijd van 65 jaar genoemd. In dat geval zou Jacob geboren zijn in 1727. Ook is de geboorteplaats niet met zekerheid vast te stellen. In de huwelijksakte uit 1757 staat de stad Naarden als plaats van herkomst. In het streekarchief te Naarden zijn echter geen verdere gegevens te vinden. In de huwelijksakte uit 1782 wordt de stad Turijn (Turin) in Noord Italië genoemd. Lang is gedacht dat Turn de plaats of streek van herkomst was. Deze naam komt in de topografie van Europa niet voor. Turn zou dan echter kunnen komen van de stad Solothurn in Zwitserland. Ook wordt het Zwitserse plaats Thun genoemd.
Dat Jacob Balm afkomstig is uit Turijn, of de omgeving daarvan, wordt bevestigd door een notitie in een van de archiefstukken van de Waalse kerkgemeenschap in Amsterdam. In 1763 en de jaren daarna krijgt Jacob ondersteuning in de vorm van geld en brood.
