Nadat haar man was overleden zat zij in het huis van de Voglers in Wiesbaden. Toen heeft haar zus Euphemia (Effie) haar terug gehaald naar Batavia waar zij in een van de bijgebouwen van het huis ging wonen met haar kinderen.
