    In 1707 behoorde Lambertus geboorteplaats Echt onder het overkwartier van het hertogdom Gelre, en vanaf 1713 werd Echt samen met enkele andere gemeenten onder Staats-Opper-Gelre van den Verenigde Provinciën onderverdeeld. Hij verhuist rond 1737 naar Maasbracht, wat vanaf 1716 vanuit het Oostenrijkse Habsburgse Rijk overging naar de Staats-Opper-Gelre van de Verenigde Provinciën. De taal "Limburgs" is taalkundig een Neder Frankisch dialect wat tijdens het leven van Lambertus steeds meer ontwikkeld tot het ons nu bekende Limburgs. Het eerste geschreven Limburgs is het Maastrichtse "Sermoen euver de Weurd" ("Preek over de woorden") uit 1729. Het leefgebied van Lambertus kreeg na 1740 meer stabiliteit, want er woedde een eeuw lang veel oorlogen door Duitse, Oostenrijkse, Hollandse, Spaanse en Franse machten. Het Neder Frankisch dialect was dus lange tijd pluriform en niet stabiel. Vier kinderen halen geen volwassen leeftijd, maar de leefomstandigheden door ziekten was slecht. Lambertus en Mechtildus haalde voor die tijd hoge leeftijden.
