Op 14 jarig leeftijd krijgt zij een grote schenking van Margaretha Elisabeth Ripperda, ze staat dan onder voogdij.
In deze akte, Archief Groningen, Archief Tjarda van Starkenborgh, 581-333 staat niet alleen dat ze de dochter is van Gijsbert Harmen en Josina (Elisabeth) Clant maar ook dat deze schenking voor 'haar onderhout en voordeel gedurende haar minderjarigeleven is'. De schenking betreft o.a. 80 grazen land, veel jonkers in die tijd mochten blij zijn als ze zoveel land bezaten. Omgerekend is het ongeveer 30 ha.
