Blok is a well-known name in Gouda. However, this does not mean that all Gouda Blok's are related. This became apparent when looking through the Gouda DTBs. Abraham Teunis Block, who married Suzanne Zegers Moijaert from Groede in Zeeland on October 14, 1669 in Gouda, has been the ancestor of this Blok genealogy until now. In the female line, genealogy extends back to 1500. The descendants of Abraham Theunis Block remained in Gouda until the 20th century and were thus - with the help of the mixed workplace - imbued with pipe makers. The DTBs also show that in some periods the prosperous Gouda was flooded from far and wide by refugees and fortune seekers. These have left many traces in the family.
