Bij doop Judith (1747), Judik(1748), Aaltje, Judik (1752), Judith en Jan staat: "Herman Jans" (zonder achternaam); bij doop Hendrik, Hermen, Jacobje, Geertje, Niesje, Peter en Jans staat: "Harm(en) Jans" (zonder achternaam).
Herman J. bewoont het erf "de Linde".
Zijn zoon Jan koopt het erf terug (R.A. 3-10-1783).
(N.B.: In het v.d.Linde boek staat, dat de zoon van Jan het erf terugkoopt, maar dat klopt niet met het verhaal bij Jan.)
Bij doop Hermen, Peter en Jantje 1768 staat als woonplaats van Hermen:"Leeuwte"; bij doop Klaas "Groote Leeuwte".
