Linde boek is van mening, dat Hermen Hermens de zoon is van Hermen Willems en Jacobje Hermens van der Linde; de in het doopboek vermelde naam van Harmen Jansen zou verkeerd vermeld zijn, wat moet blijken uit het lidmatenregister van de kerkals ook uit de akte van voogdijstelling van de kinderen van zijn nichtje Niesje (R.A. 9-5-1710)
