arbeitete er lediglich mit im Wirtshaus, das sein Halbbruder Johann Albert 1911 von der gemeinsamen Mutter pachtete, oder bezog sich die Verpachtung auch auf Albert Hermann? Laut Erzählung eines Großenkels muss das Gehöft sehr groß gewesen sein, also wohl mit mehreren Gebäuden und Platz für Transportwagen und Lagerscheunen. Vermutlich gab es neben dem Schankraum auch Zimmervermietung.
Die Familienmitglieder, die später endgültig das Gehöft übernahmen, waren vermutlich die Benninghoff`schen Kinder. Die Mermann-Kinder blieben wohl außen vor. Kontakte gab es vermutlich keine mehr, wohl eher Zwistigkeiten, die sich vielleicht um das Erbe rankten ? Fakt ist, dass der Besuch eines Mermann`schen Enkels in den 1970ern auf dem Meidericher Gehöft deutlich unerwünscht war.
