Rollie Steele was born on November 10, 1875, at Eldora, Iowa, the son of Isaac and Eliza Steele.
He grew up around Eldora and on December 10, 1902 he was married to Cora Baker at Lake Park.
Cora was born on Sept.ember 14, 1883 at Freeport, Illinois, the daughter of Robert and Louisa Baker.
Rollie and Cora lived a short time by Lake Park, then moved to Eldora where they farmed .
Around 1918 they moved to a farm southeast of Buffalo Center; some years later they moved near Ledyard, and then moved to a farm west of Lakota.
In 1951 they retired from farming and moved to the edge of Lakota.
They were the parents of;
Ralph,Hazel, Goldie,Bessie, Raymond,Robert,Iva, Rollie Jr., Elvie and Vernie(who died in infancy).
They were married 51 years before Rollie passed away on Jan. 12, 1953, from cancer and heart attack.
Cora passed away on Feb. 28, 1954, from a cerebral hemorrhage.
