Notes for CAMIEL LOETE:

James Joseph Loete, son of Clement Joseph Loete, has an Immigration card of his father which shows Clement arrived in the US on the SS Potsdam on 5-6-1915 (probably May 6, 1915). Mary learned to walk on the boat on the way to the US. Camiel Loete came to the US a couple of years before his wife and sent for her and the kids. Based on Mary’s birth date of April 1914, he likely arrived in the late 1913.

Because Alice was mentally challenged his wife and the kids were not readily admitted to the US and spent months at Ellis Island. It was many years before Alice was finally allowed to become a permanent US resident.
