Notes about Susanna "Polly" (Susanna, "Polly") Dreyer b4c2d4e8f9g9

    • Housing was in extremely short supply at the time with most prospective tenants leaving their names on waiting lists which could last for years. Fortunately Duncan had two of his sisters living in Lancaster Road at the time and they obviously recommended the family to the then owner, Mr. Shenker who owned all of the houses in Lancaster Road. Duncan's younger sister Polly and her husband Wim Grondman lived next door in number 9 and across the road in number 6 lived his older sister Sibeth, her husband 'Mac' Mckeever and their two sons Sean and Patrick.
