Michiel was `n burger van Stellenbosch wat op 29-jarige ouderdom die
binneland ingetrek het. In die jaar 1746 “Werd door deesen gepermitteerd aan een lande
bouwer Michiel de Plooÿ omme voor den tyd van een geheele jaar met zijn vee te mogen
gaan leggen en weyden aan de mond van den harte beeste revier geleegen aan de breede
revier” [KAB Stellenbosch Nr 123] Hierdie plek is naby Worcester geleë, omtrent 5 km Wes
van die dorp gaan die pad na Kaapstad oor die Hartebeesrivier. Die naam van die gebied is
nog De Mond. Hierdie toestemming is gereeld hernu tot die jaar 1766. Hy het in 1746 1
slaaf, 1 perd, 22 beeste en 120 skape gehad. Waarskynlik het De Mond sy eiendom geword.
Die plaas De Mond het in die gebiedsafdeling van Tulbagh (Land van Waveren)geval en al sy
  kindesr is in die kerk aldaar gedoop.Die kerk, waaraan later aangebou is, word nou as `n
museum gebruik
