Hij is een zoon van Meerten Leendertszn. van Driel en Janneken Claesdr. Vosberch (zie 2.5). Hij werd geboren in de polder van De Heen en werd op 26-9-1636 in de geref. kerk van Steenbergen gedoopt met als getuigen Antoni Bisdom en Janneken Cornelis. Leendert was doopgetuige in Steenbergen op 22-2-1660. Met zijn echtgenote woonde hij in Dinteloord, waar hij tussen 1668 en 1670 overleed.Als jonge man van De Heen ondertrouwde hij op 22-11-1664 in Nieuw-Vossemeer, bevestigd in Kruisland op 21-12-1664 (met een attestatie van Nieuw-Vossemeer en Steenbergen) met Lijnken Taselaar, jonge dochter, gereformeerd gedoopt in Colijnsplaat op 16-12-1640, dochter van Hendrick Janszn. Taselaar (landbouwer in Nieuw-Vossemeer; vanaf 21-12-1669 wonend in Prinsenland) en Pieternella Jans. Na het overlijden van Leendert Meertenszn. van Driel hertrouwde (ondertrouwde) Lijnken Taselaar in Dinteloord op 10-5-1670 (bevestigd in Gastel) met Jacob Priemer, geboren in Prinsenland, zoon van Bartholomeus Priemer (schepen van Dinteloord en Prinsenland), landbouwer aan de Noordzeedijk aldaar, vermeld in 1672.
