John Henry Eastman, 72, of Rt 4, Winfield, died Sunday morning in William Newton Memorial Hospital. He was born Aug 1, 1904, in Cowley County to H A and Bell Eastman. He married Grace Gardner Nov 12, 1925, and had farmed on Rt 4 six miles east and two miles north of Winfield for the past 37 years. He was a lifetime resident of Cowley County and a member of the Tisdale United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, one son, Eugene of Winfield, four daughters, Mrs Ruth Tate of Augusta, Mrs Leona Jordan of Burden, Mrs Janice McGowan of Enid, Mrs Louise Stevenson of Derby, two brothers, Leo and Cecil Eastman, both of Winfield, four sisters, Mrs Dorothy Young, Mrs Irena Cook, both of Winfield, Mrs Ruby Wagner of De Soto, Tex, Mrs Hilda Steward of Wichita, 17 grandchildren and 11 great- grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 am Tuesday in Morris Memorial Chapel by the Rev Lyle Miller. Burial will be in Wilmot Cemetery.
