Dorothy J Young, 85, of 1413 Andrews St, Winfield, died Oct 17, 1992 , at Good Samaritan Village.
Born May 21, 1907, in Burden, she was the daughter of Henry Arthur and Elizabeth Bell (Bowen) Eastman. After attending Wilmot and Burden schools, she married G. W. "Bill" Hiatt Oct 28, 1928, in Augusta. They lived in Wilmot where she ran the telephone office. The couple moved to a farm southeast of Wilmot and later to the Winfield area. He preceded her in death in 1947. On March 5, 1960, she married the Rev D E Young in Winfield, and he preceded her in death in 1974.
Young was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She had resided at the Good Samaritan Village since 1989. Survivors include two sons E W "Bud"" Hiatt of Yukon, Okla, and Cecil Hiatt of Route 4; three daughters Doris F Frisbie of Kingman, Shirley Thomas of Arkansas City, and Janet Calllsion of Wichita; two brothers, Leo and Cecil Eastman of Winfield; two sisters, Ruby WAGNER of DeSoto, Texas, and Hilda Stewart of Wichita; 15 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 pm Tuesday in Wheeler Memorial Chapel of Winfield, with interment in Wilmot Cemetery. Memorial contributions to the Alzheimer's Support Group of Winfield should be made out to Good Samaritan Village.
