Matthew Davis (husband of Margaret CORBIN)
"He was one of the thirteen men sent out from Roxbury through the wilderness "to spy out the land" for the settlement which is now Woodstock, Connecticut. He was one of the first settlers and afterwards surveyor, constable, and selectman. In the later period of his life he removed to Pomfret, Windham County, Connecticut, and d. there February 4, 1729."
