Notes about Christian VI. von Oldenburg

Gf. v. Oldenburg 1403 gemeinschaftlich mit seinem Vetter Moritz III. (+ 1420) und seinem Bruder Dietrich, nach Moritz Tod nur mit Dietrich, 1398 Inhaber einer Pfründe am Stift St. Gereon in Köln, verließ die geistliche Laufbahn, um zusammen mit seinem Bruder Dietrich die Landesherrschaft in Oldenburg zu übernehmen. Laut der Rasteder Chronik hatte Moritz II. eine Hälfte der Burg zu Oldenburg inne, seine Vettern bewohnten die andere Hälfte. Als die Oldenburger Grafen 1408 die Machtstellung der Stadt Bremen an der friesischen Unterweser zu brechen versuchten, geriet Christian VI. in Bremer Gefangenschaft. Für seine Auslösung musste sein Bruder dem Bremer Rat Landwürden und das Gericht zu Lehe verpfänden.
