Datadumps

Second World War victims (linked data)

Family tree researchers who publish on Genealogy Online mark Second World War victims in their publication and enrich the information by linking them to other sources (proposed by Genealogy Online). This dataset is made accessible on the World War II victims page, also through data dumps. The daily updated dataset is available as a data dump under a CC-BY-SA license in the following formats:

The https://www.genealogieonline.nl/id/ URIs used in the linked data for WWII victims, publications and people resolves based on the Accept header such as Turtle, NT, RDF / XML, JSON-LD or HTML. APIs

People (open search API)

The Genealogy Online search function unlocks 81 million individuals in thousands of family trees. This search function is based on the Open Search API. Search results are available in HTML, RSS and JSON.

Publications (OAI-PMH endpoint for harvesting)

The metadata of the Genealogy Online publications is available as a repository via an OAI-PMH (Open Archives Initiative Protocol for Metadata Harvesting) metadata feed. This feed is an implementation of an OAI-PMH Data Provider, based on OAI-PMH 2.0, including on-the-fly GZIP compression. The OAI-PMH endpoint is described on the Genealogy Online OAI-PMH Data Provider page.

Data publications

With the Genealogy Online Data API (see also Open API Specification ) third parties have access to genealogical data from Genealogy Online publications. The Genealogy Online Data API may only be used by known third parties, who must obtain permission from the Genealogy Online user. Authorization is handled using OAuth2.
