NOTE: HUGO DE GROTE (ca. 900 - Dourdan 16 of 17 juni 956), hertog van Francië en Bourgondië, was een zoon van Robert I, koning van Frankrijk. De opvolger van zijn vader als koning, Rudolf van Bourgondië, ontnam Hugo zijn erfgoed Neustrië. Na diens dood (936) dong hij niet naar de kroon,maar liet een Karolingische schijnkoning benoemen, Lodewijk IV van Overzee , terwijl hij zelf hertog van Francië (tussen Loire, Maas en Schelde) en Bourgondië werd (941).
