Notes about Ople Mae FIGERT

Her obituary and death certificate have her first name spelled as "Opal", butshe and her children always spelled it as "Ople." It also appears that way on her marriage license and birth certificate. Someone responsible for the death records and newspaper notices may have "corrected" the spelling of her name to match that of the gemstone. Ople's first child was by Elmer Robinson, but they were not married, so I have entered Elmer as the second "spouse" in order that Charles rather than Elmer will show up on the Spouse space when Ople is listed in her parents' family group chart. SSN: 307-70-0208 Wabash Co. Birth records list Ople May Grisso b. 20 Mar 1906, father Walter Figert age23, mother Pearl Grisso age 19. Wabash Co. Death Certificate in Bk 1981, p. 32, line 280 lists Opal Mae Grisso, father Walter Figert, mother Pearl Grisso,d. 23 May 1981, age 75, in Wabash Co. Hosp. (Her date of death was mistakenly written into the space for birth date, as well as the space for death date.
