Bio: Lawrence is the son of Peter Stephens and Maria C Rittenhouse. There were 10 children in the family. Lewis 1714-1802, Maria Christina 1715-1777, Joseph Lawrence 1716-1722, Maria 1717-1792, Lawrence 1722-1776, Margaret 1724-1801, Peter 1732-1812, Henry 1734-1767, Elizabetha 1737-1738 and Keziah Stephens 1737-1814.

Lawrence married Elizabeth Mercer Jones in 1740 in Frederick County, VA. Elizabeth was born on Aug 24, 1722 in Pennsylvania , PA and died in 1749, at a very young age. She was the daughter of John Austins Jones and Anne Vanderslice. They had four children.
