On 24 March 1817 Lucy was witness at the marriage of John Ezzey and Rebecca Lamb. Her 'x' mark was made beside her name written as Luisa Thomas Baylis. On 10 January 1825 Lucy was witness at the marriage of Joseph Dargin and Elizabeth Ezzy. Her 'x' mark was made beside her name written as Luisa Baylis.
My late cousin Grace Douglass advised 'if the statements made on her daughter Lucy's Death Certificate are correct, then it is possible that Jane, Lucy's mother. was Irish, as her maiden name is supposed to have been FLOID. Lucy's step son-in-law Jonathan EVERINGHAM was the informant on her Death Certificate and it's quite possible that John ROBERTS, Lucy's husband could have given him this piece of information. However Jane died over fifty years before Lucy's death and neither mother, nor daughter could write. Lucy was the eldest surviving daughter of William & Jane.'
