Nathan Kornalijnslijper, van beroep hoedenmaker. was een zoon van Gompert Kornalijnslijper en Schoontje Pampel. Hij trouwde op 12 Februari 1937 in Amsterdam met Eva Tertaas, een dochter van Mozes Tertaas en Sientje Brilleslijper. In Juni van dat jaar werd hun dochter Jeannette geboren.

Nathan had nog twee zusters, Sara en Elisabeth die eveneens tijdens de Holocaust zijn omgekomen. Eén zuster heeft de oorlog overleefd.
