Rev. J. A. Irby obituary Submitted by Lissa Johnston <mailto:lissaj@comcast.net> Mabank Banner February 2 1927 REV. IRBY DEAD News reached here afternoon that Rev. J. A. Irby had died at his home at Mallard Prairie. It was expected that he would be buried at Payne Springs cemetery today. He had been sick for quite a while and had suffered a stroke of paralysis which rendered him practically helpless. Rev. Irby was among the pioneer settlers of that section of the country, and by his kindliness and neighborliness had endeared himself to all who knew him.
