Michael "Mike" Stuit, 44, of Oakdale died Aug. 31.

Mr. Stuit was a native of Modesto.

He is survived by his parents, Raymond and Joan Stuit of Modesto; and brothers, Loren Stuit of Elk Grove and Jeff Stuit of Ripon.

A graveside service will be at 9:30a.m. Saturday at Ripon Cemetery. A memorial service will be at 11a.m. Saturday at First Christian Reformed Church, Modesto.

Remembrances may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, in care of Sierra Hope Ride, 1400 Florida Ave., Suite 106, Modesto 95350.

Michael was killed instantly in a motorcycle accident about one half mile from his home on Oakdale/Waterford Highway on the evening of August 31, 2006 about 9:45 in the evening. He hit a horse trailer, with horses in it, from behind which did not have lights on the trailer.
