10 October 1895 Jacob[je], aged 24 years, arrived with her father and farmer Albt. Boxum (51), her mother (52) and her six siblings Hend. (sister, 28), Hendrik (19), Grietje (17), Albt. (14), Ane (11) and Annigje (9) on the ship The Majestic from Liverpool via Queenstown (Cobh) in Ireland at Ellis Island, New York. Their destination is Cawker City, Mitchell County, in Kansas.
In 1899 she married in Kansas to Hendrik Jan Van Leeuwen, also born in the Netherlands. In 1900 they live in Smith County, northwest of Cawker City, likely in or near Dispatch, and in 1920 in Sioux County, Iowa. In 1935 and 1940 they reside in Rock Valley, Sioux County, Iowa. In 1940 her 75 y aged husband Hendrick J van Leeuwen has no farm or job there.
