William D. Carlisle Jan. 2, 1921 - Aug. 24, 2009 BUCHANAN - William Daniel Carlisle, 88, of 207 Days Avenue, Buchanan, MI, died at 5:42 a.m. Monday, August 24, in his home. He was born January 2, 1921, in Oak Park, IL, to the late Daniel and Pearl Carlisle. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Vivian LaValle. He was a lifelong area resident, a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, and was a machinist-die sinker for Buchanan Steel Products/National Standard, Buchanan, MI. On September 20, 1952, in Buchanan, he married Betty Sue Carlisle, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Michael Newton (Sue) Carlisle of New Paris, IN; grandchildren, Angela Sue (Earl) Otto, Andrew Michael Carlisle and April Leigh (Nate) Moor; great-grandchildren, Emileigh Otto, Kayleigh Otto, Rhyan Otto and Parker Morr; and a sister, Phyllis Berry of Syracuse, NY. Services will be at 10 a.m. today, August 27, in Emmanuel Baptist Bible Church, Niles, with Brad Lomax of the Emmanual Baptist Bible Church officiating. Burial will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Buchanan. Friends called from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 26th, in Hoven Funeral Home, Buchanan. Memorials may be made to Emmanual Baptist Bible Church, 216 Beeson Road, Niles, MI 49120; or to Hospice at Home, 4017 Chamberlain Road, Buchanan, MI 49107.
