Walter moved to McKillop Twp with his parents in 1866. Later he married Isabella Turner who was born near Bayfield, ON. They farmed near Seaforth, ON. In March 1882, he and his brother, Robert shipped a car of settlers effects to Winnipeg, MB and went out there with teams and wagons to find a homestead. He settled on W 5-5-24 on the farm next to his brother. In 1883, his wife and son, John came to Manitoba. In 1893 Walter bought all of 5-5-24. He was a curler and a member of the Old Country Boys Club of Lauder. Walter Grieve homesteaded W1/2 - 4 - 5 - 24 - W1. No record of death in Archives.
