Named for Henri Gustave Joly French born, Swiss -Protestant Liberal who was Premier of Quebec 1878-1879. Buried Mountain View Cemetery (Southside) Thunder Bay Ontario. Freight Agent for the C.N.R. in Ft. William. Quit elementary school went to work on a delivery wagon in Toronto. 1897 moved back to Ingersoll, Floor sweeper in a pea mill and worked for an undertaker. Moved to Westminster Twp. worked on Uncles farm( J.Blair). 1898 went to Manitoba to Thresh and Stook wheat. Took business courses in Chicago. Bought flour and feed business in 1900. 1905 working for Soo Line in Shevlin Manitoba. 1907 working for Canadian Pacific Railway. 1911 Grand Trunk Railway in Sioux Lookout.
