Dr. Jay McKenzie Oliver A Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, 2007, in the chapel of Mary`s Woods in Lake Oswego for Dr. Jay McKenzie Oliver, who died Aug. 14 at age 91. Jay McKenzie Oliver was born June 13, 1916, in Turtleford, Saskatchewan, and immigrated to Portland as a child. He graduated from Jefferson High School and Western States Chiropractic College. During World War II, he served in the Navy in Guam. He was a self-employed chiropractor in Portland for about 20 years and also taught at Western States Chiropractic College. He was a member of St. John Fisher and Holy Redeemer Catholic churches. He retired to Lake Oswego in 2001. In 1942, he married Rose Brady; she died in 2004. Survivors include his daughter, Sister Maureen Oliver S.N.J.M.; sons, Mack, Patrick, Kerry and Dennis; sisters, Eleanor McPherson and June Borich; brothers, Nerval and Mack; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Remembrances to the Sisters of the Holy Names Retirement Fund. Arrangements by Autumn. Published in the Oregonian on August 16, 2007.
