inhumé en la crypte de Rancourt, épouse en premières noces le 28.02.1629 à VAUVILLERS (70) Marguerite CAILLOZ (probablement de Neufchâteau, fille de Claude CAILLOZ bourgeois de Neufchâteau et d’Anne SALLET), puis en secondes noces une demoiselle DE RANCOURT. François THOMASSIN devint seigneur de Montdoré et Hurecourt (70) suite au testament de son père du 24.03.1625. François THOMASSIN rédigea une lettre testament le 04.11.1640 à Rancourt alors qu’il s’occupait des pestiférés de la seigneurie hébergés dans la salle d’armes du château de Rancourt, ruiné par les armées étrangères, tout comme le château de Montdoré. En 1641, la tutelle de ses trois enfants est confiée à Anne THOMASSIN, épouse FOURAIRE de Ville-sur-Illon.
