Il demeurait à Rancourt, seigneurie de sa mère, et ne revendiqua pas ses droits sur le château et la seigneurie de Montdoré (70) qui passa à la famille COURTAILLON, laquelle se fit appeler par la suite COURTAILLON DE MONTDORE.

Sa mère, par acte de 1644, laisse à sa belle-soeur la terre de Montdoré et Dominique THOMASSIN obtient une compensation, effective en 1655 : « Mandres, terres et meix, plus ce qui reste du château des du Châtelet, le tout en sa majorité, propres de son père », c'est-à-dire le château et les terres de Mandres-sur-Vair.
