On Monday morning the funeral of John Dewey occurred at the Catholic Church, the Rev. Father Slattery of Elkton officiating. Interment was in the cemetery at Aurora to which the remains were escorted by a large number of the friends and neighbors of the deceased. The family live about nine miles southeast of the city, but Mr. Dewey was visiting at Wakoma in the western part of the state at the time of his death, which occurred on January 15. The remains arrived here on Friday night. Mr. Dewey was eighty-two years of age and is survived by widow and several children. Among those present at the funeral were N. Dewey and wife of Wakonda, H.C. Gunn and wife of Capa, Mesdames Lucy McCormick and Hattie Yearwood of Cook, Nebraska and John Benway of Sherburn, Minn.
