ALANUS DE LIMESI, son of Gerardus de Limesi, born after 1155 in England, he witnessed the confirmation of his brother John of the gifts of their ancestors to the priory of Hertford (Charter Num V., Dugd.Monast). he is evidently the second and only younger son of Amicia de Limesia in 1185, when both were living (Rot.de Dom. et Puer., etc. p27) according to Dugdale, and the majority of past authorities, Alanus died without issue, clearly was old enough to marry and probably did, he died before 1221-2
