ROBERT ADAMS and wife[PATIENCE HULL] moved from Bardstown, Kentucky, to near Chillicothe, Ohio, in 1797. Their oldest child, MARY [MARY BAIRD ADAMS], was born in Kentucky. At the farm near Paint Creek, in the vicinity of Chillicothe , Mr. Adams had a mill, no doubt actuated by horse power. He built a substantial frame house, for part of it was still in use when Mrs. Keltie MCCOY visited the place a very few years ago. After his death, which evidently occurred in 1817, his widow managed the farm for some years with the help of her sons and daughters, all of whom were energetic workers."
