Notes about Sam Parker

Sam followed logging and was one of the operators of a steam locomotive hauling loads of logs from the timber. He was injured while working with a hoisting crew and spent several years in Emanuel Hospital in Portland, Oregon. He was paralized from the waist down. He moved about the hospital readily in a wheel chair to visit other patients. He was noted around the hospital for his good cheer, high courage and fortitude in bearing of his adversities.
