      Het kleermakersvak leerde hij van zijn schoonvader.
      Burger van Wolfhagen geworden 28-10-1687. In dit jaar betaalt hij ook het burgergeld voor zijn vrouw: 5 R(eichstaler), 5 Albus.
      Voor zichzelf betaalt hij drie rijksdaalders contant. De rest zal hij eind van het jaar betalen, na verkoop van een vet varken.

      Conrad moest als nieuwe meester in totaal 4 gulden betalen, waarvan de stad, zoals blijkt uit de verrekening, de helft ontving.
      Het reglement van het Kleermakersgilde, gedateerd 30-5-1681 en herzien op 3-12-1731 (maar in wezenlijke dingen niet gewijzigd) geeft ons een inzicht in de eisen, die gesteld werden. Het Reglement werd in naam van Friedrich, landgraaf van Hessen, opgesteld.

      Conrad woonde in de vierde wijk bij zijn ouders in het jaar 1687 en zelfstandig in 1688, waarbij hij 8 Albus, 8 Heller voorschot en 6 Heller nabetaalde; in de wijk Garthaus 1693-1700 met een zelfde bedrag aan belasting.
      Vanaf 1701 woont hij in de 2de buurtschap. Hij koopt daar een huis in de Kleine Teichstrasse, waarvoor hij kennelijk 20 rijksdaalders leent bij de Kerkvoogdij. In verband met deze lening betaalt hij jaarlijks 1 rijksdaalder en 6 Albus rente.

      Volgens de stadsrekening van 1701 is Conrad in dat jaar verhuisd naar de tweede buurtschap, waar hij een huis kocht in de Kleine Teistrasse, voorheen behorend aan Hans George Neumann. Volgens de gegevens van het hospitaalarchief woonde hij hier tot 1718.
      Conrad moet later verhuisd zijn naar de Grote Teistrasse. Vanaf 1719 wordt hij genoemd met een huis in de Teistrasse. Uit latere vermeldingen blijkt dat de Grosse Teichstrasse bedoeld is.
      In een ongedateerd rekeningenboek van het hospitaal staat hij vermeld als bezitter van akkerland. De akkers zijn blijkbaar sinds 1708 in zijn bezit.

      Kort voor augustus 1708 worden Anthon Geltmacher en Cunrad Pfankuche door de raad van de stad benoemd tot voogden over de nagelaten kinderen van Hans Heinrich Demants. (Arch.Marburg, 330 Wolfhagen, nr. A595).
      Conrad schijnt een zeer eerzaam burger geweest te zijn, een rustiger man dan zijn broer Johannes, die wel eens diep in het glaasje keek. Conrad werd slechts eenmaal bestraft als jongen van 17 jaar, maar op een manier, die er niet om loog: 1 guld. 13 alb 6 heller.
